Does the extension slow down my browser?

No. The extension is engineered to be lightweight.

Why it's fast: It only processes data TikTok is already sending to your browser. There are no extra network requests, no heavy background tasks, no constant syncing. Storage uses IndexedDB which is optimized for browser performance.

Real impact: Most users see zero noticeable performance difference. If you're on a very old machine or have hundreds of tabs open, you might see minor slowdown on profile pages with thousands of videos being analyzed at once.

If you notice slowdown: Clear local data (Settings → Clear Data), reduce auto-retention to 24h, or disable panels you don't use in Settings.
