Where is my data stored and is it private?

Privacy is built into the foundation of the extension. Here's exactly how it works.
Where data is stored: All data captured by the extension lives locally in your browser using IndexedDB (a browser-native storage system). Nothing is sent to TokScript servers automatically.
What the extension reads: Only data that TikTok is already sending to your browser as you browse normally. The extension does not make extra requests to TikTok, does not scrape pages you haven't visited, and does not see anything you couldn't see yourself by looking at the page.
When data leaves your browser: Only when you explicitly trigger it. Clicking Add to TokScript sends a profile to your dashboard. Clicking Start Import in the popup sends the imported links. Outside of those explicit actions, nothing is transmitted.
Account data: When you sign in to your TokScript account in the extension, your authentication is handled securely. Your password is never stored locally.
Data retention: You control how long captured data stays in your browser. The default is "keep forever" but you can set it to 12, 24, 48, or 72 hours.
