How to Transcribe a Video Using Claude or ChatGPT

Transcription is the most common way to use TokScript through the MCP connector. You can transcribe individual videos or multiple videos at once.

Single Video:

  1. In your Claude or ChatGPT chat, paste the video URL or mention the platform and creator.

  2. The connector fetches the video and extracts the transcript.

  3. You'll get the full transcript text, including any captions, audio narration, and dialogue.

  4. Transcripts are in the video's original language by default (not automatically translated to English).

Multiple Videos (Bulk Transcription):

  1. Collect your video URLs. You can add up to 50 at once.

  2. Paste them all into the chat.

  3. If the collection is under 50 videos, transcription happens instantly. You'll see all transcripts in the chat.

  4. If it's 50+ videos, the request goes into an async job queue. You'll get an email in about 30 minutes with the results.

Tips:

  • Include the full URL (starting with http or https). The connector recognizes TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and more.

  • If a video doesn't have captions or audio narration, the transcript will be shorter or empty.

  • Ask Claude or ChatGPT to summarize, analyze, or rewrite the transcript after it's pulled in—that's where AI really shines.

  • Transcripts return in the original language. Use the translation feature if you need a different language.
