Yes. TokScript uses OAuth-based authentication and secure API endpoints for all MCP requests. Your data is protected.

How Security Works:

OAuth Authentication:

  • You authorize TokScript once, and it generates a secure token.

  • Your password is never shared with Claude, ChatGPT, or other platforms.

  • You can revoke access anytime by disconnecting the MCP integration.

API Endpoint:

  • All requests go through api.tokscript.com/mcp.

  • This is the same secure endpoint used by the website and Chrome Extension.

  • Requests are encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).

Data Handling:

  • Your transcripts and metadata are stored in TokScript's database (not in Claude, ChatGPT, or third-party servers).

  • When you request a transcript through the MCP connector, the result is returned to your chat—it's not logged separately.

  • Transcripts are yours. TokScript doesn't sell, share, or use them for training AI models.

What's Sent to Claude or ChatGPT:

When you ask Claude or ChatGPT to analyze a transcript:

  • The transcript text is sent to Claude/ChatGPT's servers (not TokScript).

  • Claude and ChatGPT have their own privacy policies. If you're using a paid Claude or ChatGPT account, your conversations may be retained (check their privacy policy for details).

  • TokScript does not see the analysis—only the transcript request goes through TokScript.

What's NOT Shared:

  • Your TokScript password (OAuth only).

  • Your payment information (we use LemonSqueezy for billing; they handle payments).

  • Your email or personal details with Claude, ChatGPT, or other platforms.

Revoke Access Anytime:

If you want to disconnect TokScript from Claude or ChatGPT:

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations.

  2. Find TokScript and click "Disconnect" or "Remove."

  3. Access is immediately revoked. No further requests will go through.

What About Videos I Transcribe?

  • The original video URLs you provide are seen by TokScript (to fetch the transcript).

  • Video URLs are not shared with Claude or ChatGPT unless you paste them in chat.

  • Transcripts are stored in your TokScript library on our servers.

If You're Concerned:

  • Don't paste sensitive or proprietary information in the chat (whether using TokScript or not).

  • If you need to analyze confidential content, transcribe it through TokScript, then ask Claude/ChatGPT to analyze it locally or in a private session.

Bottom Line:

TokScript's MCP connector is as secure as the website and Chrome Extension. It's the same API, same data handling, same encryption. Using it through Claude or ChatGPT doesn't reduce security.
